The CG220 is the industry's first LCD monitor to cover the Adobe RGB color space. It encompasses not only the sRGB color space covered by many standard monitors, but also CMYK color spaces used for printing. Reliable soft proofing is now possible, and with it a more time- and cost-efficient workflow. The extra-wide 22.2-inch screen supports 1920 ? 1200 resolution (16: 10 aspect ratio), meaning that it can display a two-page A4 spread with no clipped edges. The ColorEdge CG220 comes equipped with EIZO's newly developed ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuit) which takes 8-bit data (256 tones for each primary color) from the PC and converts it to 14-bits (16, 384 tones) and then back to 8-bits for an ideal gamma curve. This 14-bit processing capability ensures extremely smooth grayscale rendering even in typically problematic dark areas of an image. The CG220 presents a long-awaited breakthrough in digital proofing. Photographers, designers, and printers can now conduct all color checks on screen before printing.
