The A980 is able to take the latest desktop Pentium 4 processors with Northwood core and 533MHz FSB, right up to 3.06GHz, thus enabling the user to operate the most powerful CPUs on the market today and run the latest software applications with ease. The super fast performance of the A980 is guaranteed to meet the demanding needs of professionals always 'on the go' and speed-hungry gaming enthusiasts. Being extremely versatile, the A980 also takes older Willamette core CPUs with speeds of 1.4GHz and above. The A980 features the SiS651/962 chipset with integrated 256-bit 3D graphics accelerator for Intel Pentium 4 processors. The graphics accelerator supports a shared memory size of up to 64MB, and also supports advanced hardware acceleration for DVD playback. The AGP 4X interface ensures crisp and clear graphics quality, while the chipset's Ultra-AGPII technology interconnects the integrated VGA chip and memory controller, allowing data transfer rates up to 2GB per second. SiS' special MuTIOL technology provides 533MB/s bandwidth to connect the chipset's north bridge and south bridge.
