...This accessory for the PDA is a must-have. Basically, it's a docking cradle which allows the Pocket PC to sit in, the cradle has some connections which connect to your PC through some wires using USB or Serial (COM) interface. This product makes your desk a lot tidier, since your pocket PC has somewhere to but and the wires (charger and PC connection) are hidden behind the docking cradle. It's also fairly easy to use, all you need to do is but the pocket PC on the cradle, and the pocket PC will turn on, and Active Sync will run, and the pocket PC will re-charge. Disadvantages are that it is a bit expensive for a peice of plastic. And it's too light, it has poor grip with the desk.... Read review

...Let me start off by saying that although I use my Compaq PDA (Personal Data Assistant - a hand held computer) on a daily basis, I do not understand the technology behind it and do not want to have to understand it. The purpose of the cradle is to provide an interface between the PDA and my computer. It provided an easy way to recharge the PDA battery and also allows programs to be shared/swapped and updated between the two devices. The PDA is a tool and it has to do a job for me, with a minimum of technical know-how on my part. That is what I love about the docking cradle. I was able to set it up with great ease - for once the instructions seemed to tell me everything that I needed to know - and that was not much. ...I brought this for my PCh5550 ipaq (see my review) I loved this little thing, apart from being a docking cradle it also acts as a recharging base and also a little gadget to house your ipaq when at home or the office. I love this kit, it went well with the looks of the ipaq. The speed i found was fast (sorry for no exact speed) and i could transfer for example mp3 files of 5mb in about 2 seconds which was great for myself, so therefore it wouldn't take long to transfer all the memory from either laptop or ipaq to the other. I would have preffered if there was a fire wire version because then the speeds would be much faster. When using this i did find that there was a loose connection with the ipaq, which didn't mess with transmitions but just became a little annoying.
