This camera, along with looking good, is pretty cheap for its quality. It's great for taking along hiking or camping; this is primarily an outdoor camera. It takes okay indoors, but much better outdoors. The flash settings aren't the best, but when the flash is turned off is when you get the best quality from this camera. The XSI allows allows Live View which allows Autofocus (but slow) vs the 40D which has Live View but cannot AF in it. I am a fine artist who uses the Rebel XTI to shoot photographs of my large scale paintings. The color and overall contrast of each image is superb. I then upload the images into photoshop and make size adjustments and rarely have to make color corrections. It is a great camera and worth every penny. This Canon EOS 40D camera is one of the best of its kind. Being terribly easy to set up, with a great design and look about it, this camera definately makes my top ten in all that I have owned.
