Worst Camera I've ever used!
Review of Sony Sony a (alpha) DSLR-A700 by
BiteDownHard
Advantages: Comes with an arm strap and a carring case
Disadvantages: Almost everything
...overall bad. Since it's a sony you would think that it would be a good kind of camera but honestly when I bought it, i immediatley wanted my money back! It was very easy to use and the design looked nice but everything else just kinda seemed a big waste. When you first buy the Sony DSLR-A700 you get a arm strap and a bag that can come in different styles. I would not recommend this camera to anyone unless you want bad quality and very easy to break ...

Good SLR investment
Review of Canon Canon EOS 30D by
Nancy58
Advantages: Easy to use with many options
Disadvantages: none at this time
...with my camera. The Canon EOS 30D with the 17-85mm lens is easy to use right from the box and get excellent quality pictures. As you become more comfortable with the many features you will feel like a professional photography with the quality captured by this camera. When shooting in low level light the camera has the flexibilty to capture the scene without flash. As with most on camera flashes it can be harsh, adjust settings or go to the manual ...

Nikon D40
Review of Nikon Nikon D40 by
anewberry
Advantages: Lightweight, Great Capture
Disadvantages: Built in flash
I purchased the Nikon D40 in June of 2007. It is by far the most used camera in my fleet. Lightweight - yet perfectly capable of capturing anything! I use it for portraits, wedding photography, candids, landscapes, macro - name it. The built in flash works in a pinch, but I prefer the SB-600 Speedlight attached for anything that requires a flash. If you are looking into purchasing a nice lightweight, high performance digital SLR this is your best ... ...wouldn't bother buying anything more unless you could afford the Nikon D200, which in my opinion is the only camera that is a step up and worth the money. Great value for beginners, but impressive enough for the novice. I would highly recommend this camera to anyone who loves photography. ...

Greatameteur camera
Review of Canon Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi by
rainbocow
Advantages: good pictures. Intelligent design. User friendly
Disadvantages: low quality at high iso's.
This is a great camera for the price. It is not by any means a professional camera, but it is perfect for a photo enthusiast / ameatur photographer.
The kit lens is acceptable, but it is cheap and I would recommend that anyone wanting to take serious pictures, aspiring to be a professional or entering contests should spend the money to upgrade it right away. Soccer moms and snapshot takers should be more than satisfied.
The menu provides access ... ...up exactly the way you want it. There are also several easy to use automatic modes just as you would find on any snapshot camera, which makes things a lot simpler for a beginner. I have only one complaint: in very low light situations, it is hard to get a high quality picture without a tripod. The iso only goes up to 1600 and it starts to be incredibly noisy past 400. 800 is acceptable but I wouldn't try to make an 8X10 print with it, that's for ...

Nikon D40x
Review of Nikon Nikon D40x by
trinajobradley
Advantages: easy to use
Disadvantages: a little expensive
I use this camera for my work - I am the editor of a small weekly newspaper in Montana- and I love it! I also use it to take hundreds of pictures of my new baby, and for taking professional photos of seniors and weddings. I love it because it is so simple to use, and produces very high quaility photos. It also has great attachments - like a telephoto lens, that are easy to attach and use. I have used my camera in a variety of settings - indoor basketball ...
