Nikon D60
Review of Nikon D60 by MovieReview

Advantages: Easy to use, well constructed
Disadvantages: Little additional features from D40x

...its predecessor, the new entry-level Nikon D60 DSLR camera is virtually identical to the D40x model that it replaces. The D60 has the same external design, 10.2 megapixel sensor, ISO range of 100 to 3200, 3 point auto-focus system, 3D Colour Matrix Metering II, 3fps continuous shooting speed and 2.5 inch LCD screen as the D40x. All of the important changes are therefore internal. Nikon have implemented the same EXPEED image processing engine that ...
...finds out if the new Nikon D60 is worth considering. Ease of Use When you first take the Nikon D60 out of its box, you can literally feel why this digital SLR is so cheap. Its all-plastic construction makes it very light, especially if you have used a more expensive DSLR before. The same is true of the supplied 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 VR kit lens, which again is made entirely of plastic, although it is a little more substantial than the standard 18-55mm, ... Read review

Best Shot!
Review of Nikon Nikon D80 by BiteDownHard

Advantages: Great quaility, Beautiful Colors
Disadvantages: Need to buy card seperatly to hold more pictures.

...very small and cute camera and I really recommend buying it! Nikon cameras are definitely the way to go if you want a good shot, better quality than any other, and beautiful colors, and for only about $750 it's better than any camera you have probably ever used before. ... Read review

Review of Pentax K200D by CACHIRT4588

Advantages: good pictures
Disadvantages: expensive 1000$

Pentax's newest entry-level DSLR, the K200D stuffs the insides of the old flagship K10D into a compact body. Much like it's big brother, the K20D, its 2.7-inch LCD is housed in a dust and weather resistant body; unlike the K20D it features a 10.2-megapixel CCD rather than the new CMOS (Complementary Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor) sensor. We understand adding scene modes for the novice purchasing an entry-level DSLR, but we would rather see better aperture-priority ...
...DSLR, the K20D packs a 14.6-megapixel sensor into a dust-proof and weather-resistant housing. The K20D features a live view LCD (becoming more common on DSLRs), providing previously unavailable flexibility of shooting angles. One of the more interesting features enabled by the live view LCD is the viewfinder's 4x to 8x digital zoom. Normally we eschew any kind of digital zoom, but when framing a shot with an LCD viewfinder it can be extremely convenient ... Read review

Pentax K-10D
Review of Pentax Pentax K10D by nickdunny

Advantages: Price, Built-In Image stablization, quality, weather-proofing,
Disadvantages: Kit Lens is bad. Has a learning curve.

...had not heard much about Pentax Digital, but after hearing all the hype I decided to give it a try. Needless to say, I was not disappointed. At first I was a little overwhelmed with all of the buttons and options. I actually was about to send it back, but after reading the manual a few times and surfing the forums, I kinda figured things out. There are a lot of options to do one thing. So its really however you want to operate the camera. I think ...
...the price and the quality. It is a very sturdy and heavy. Something you get out of $1000+ cameras, but for $700. I was also pleased with the built -in image stabilization. I can shoot at much slower speeds without a tripod, maybe 2 f-stops. I rarely require a tripod unless it is night or studio. Overall I would highly recommend this camera to the amateur and professional alike. ... Read review

Great Professional Digital
Review of Nikon Nikon D300 by bboothe83

Advantages: Amazingly Clear and Crisp Pictures, 12.3 MP
Disadvantages: Expensive

...bought almost every lens that Nikon makes, and could never get that razor sharpness that I desired, until I bought the Nikon D300. Wow, the Nikon D300 is INCREDIBLE! The problems I had with sharpness, were related to the SENSOR I believe, and it makes sense! Yes, the D80 takes "good" pictures, but the D300 takes INCREDIBLE pictures. The D80 has a CCD sensor, and the D300 has a CMOS sensor, is this the difference? I don't know, but my D300 takes razor ... Read review
