Rebel XSI Review
Review of Canon Rebel Xsi by
spiritflare
Advantages: superb image quality, live view, light weight
Disadvantages: plasticky feel, could use better weathersealing
...the same footing as the Canon 40D, except for the weathersealing and frame rate. (3.5fps/vs 6.5 (40D). Image quality is superb and is 12 megapixels which allows plenty room for cropping. The XSI allows allows Live View which allows Autofocus (but slow) vs the 40D which has Live View but cannot AF in it. The other cameras that the XSI competes with would be the Nikon D60 and Olympus E-420. The E-420 is smaller, and has more problems with Noise at ... ...1) someone who already has Canon Lenses and wants to keep the Canon-body to keep their lens investment.
2) First time DSLR buyer who is attracted to Canon - go into the store and compare against the Nikon D60 and see which feels better for you.
3) Buyer who is looking for a camera with Live View capability so they can see how the image looks on the LCD screen in addition to looking through a viewfinder.
For a comparative summary of this camera, ...

Pro. Camera
Review of Sony a (alpha) DSLR-A200K by
Manda
Advantages: Great for out doors
Disadvantages: none yet
This camera, along with looking good, is pretty cheap for its quality. It's great for taking along hiking or camping; this is primarily an outdoor camera. It takes okay indoors, but much better outdoors. The flash settings aren't the best, but when the flash is turned off is when you get the best quality from this camera. As a photographer, I use this camera mostly for the outdoors, but on occasion I have used it for family holidays and other indoor ...

D40x with a face washing and four functions
Review of Nikon D60 by
paso7789
Advantages: new features that allow creative editing and retouching the image
Disadvantages: A few changes IN RESPECT his predecessor
The image quality is good. Sharpness good before moving programme retouching. Very good autonomy. The aim VR is very complete but has few novelties (osea D40x with a face washing and four functions), has no engine approach and the price varies only slightly more. A few noteworthy changes with respect to the design of the D60, which retains the 2.5-inch monitor and does not change the weight of all: less than 500 grams. The same is true with sensitivity, ... ...speed of 3 frames per second. The D60 also offers new features that allow creative editing and retouching the image across the screen menus without necessarily going through the computer. It is a camera that could recommend to people looking for a simple to use and without many complicaiones. In my humble opinion, I believe that currently exist in the market WARC something better. ...

Canon rocks it with the Digital Rebel
Review of Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi by
klunsford11
Advantages: Rapid start up
Disadvantages: A bit noisy at highest ISO
The Canon Digital Rebel was my first DSLR and I would absolutely reccomend it to those looking to advance from a point and shoot camera. It has a newly designed 10.1 megapixel CMOS sensor plus a ton of new features including a 2.5-inch LCD monitor, an exclusive EOS Integrated Cleaning System, and Canon's Picture Style technology, all in a lightweight, comfortable to hold body. The auto modes leave all the guess work to the amateurs and the Manual ...

I love my Nikon D40
Review of Nikon D40 by
sierra0278
Advantages: Excellent picture quality, easy to use
Disadvantages: None
I bought my Nikon D40 3 months ago. This is my first SLR camera and my first Nikon. I am an amateur photographer and owned Canons before. I love this camera so much! I take tons of pictures of my kids. The first few pictures I took were on auto and they were amazing. The quality is over the top! It is very very easy to use and the manual is very informative. It feels good and solid in your hands, not too large. The battery lasts a long time as well. ...
