Sony alpha DSLR-A350
Review of Sony a (alpha) DSLR-A350 by hehethegreat

Advantages: Unique Mechanism, Auto Focus Improvements
Disadvantages: Still Expensive

Sony with the high brand level launch alpha DSLR-A350 with a unique mechanism that no one has yet tried, drawing an image from inside the optical viewfinder with a special tilting mirror. Like the A200 Sony make improvements to alpha-A350 AF have made focus acquisition 1.7 times faster, thanks to the high-torque AF motor and improved AF sequence borrowed from the A700. Autofocus in Live View is also as fast as it is in optical viewfinder mode, a ...
...With that description above make Sony A350 as a semi-pro camera. Not a bad thing, because it shows that the housing and appearance of the camera give you a good feeling, certainly with the Carl Zeiss lens mounted on the camera but If you need the resolution bump at a low price, the Rebel XSi is probably a better choice than the Sony Alpha DSLR-A350. ... Rebel XSI Review
Review of Canon Rebel Xsi by spiritflare

Advantages: superb image quality, live view, light weight
Disadvantages: plasticky feel, could use better weathersealing

...the same footing as the Canon 40D, except for the weathersealing and frame rate. (3.5fps/vs 6.5 (40D). Image quality is superb and is 12 megapixels which allows plenty room for cropping. The XSI allows allows Live View which allows Autofocus (but slow) vs the 40D which has Live View but cannot AF in it. The other cameras that the XSI competes with would be the Nikon D60 and Olympus E-420. The E-420 is smaller, and has more problems with Noise at ...
...1) someone who already has Canon Lenses and wants to keep the Canon-body to keep their lens investment. 2) First time DSLR buyer who is attracted to Canon - go into the store and compare against the Nikon D60 and see which feels better for you. 3) Buyer who is looking for a camera with Live View capability so they can see how the image looks on the LCD screen in addition to looking through a viewfinder. For a comparative summary of this camera, ... Read review

Great camera
Review of Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi by mrbungle

Advantages: Great vibrant photos
Disadvantages: moderately priced

I am a fine artist who uses the Rebel XTI to shoot photographs of my large scale paintings. The color and overall contrast of each image is superb. I then upload the images into photoshop and make size adjustments and rarely have to make color corrections. It is a great camera and worth every penny. This camera also adjusts very well to different lighting situations that would otherwise distort and over expose an image. I guess one of the nicest ... Read review

The best option in its price range
Review of Pentax K20D by cuenty41

Advantages: everything is there
Disadvantages: Somewhat more difficult to locate targets and accessories that other brands

...built as well as the Pentax K20D. It is manufactured, like its predecessor, the K10D, and poses a genuine prodigy hermetismo. Made of aluminum alloy and sealed in 74 parts, is a real joy in this regard. Accepts obviously grip for extra batteries and compartment to store an extra card. Its compartments are sealed and are opened by a few levers, which gives them extra security, apart from sealing already commented. It has also infrared receiver in ...
...and allows calibrate the color and intensity. The goal is usually to provide the 'kit', a 18-55 almost identical to the K10D, but in my opinion much improved. In the body not only find the shoe flash usual, but also includes a contact x-sync. Accepts goals with mounting "K" ... Read review

Sony's new DSLR is picture perfect...
Review of Sony a (alpha) DSLR-A300K by bigwerd07

Advantages: Ease of use, lots of features, and great look
Disadvantages: So many features make me feel lost sometimes. Seems to be very fragile.

...needed a new camera, and Sony is a name I trust in all my electronics. I looked on Crutchfield.com and found the Sony A300K. It first grabbed my attention because of its nice, sleek look. Then I found out it had 10.2 Megapixels. That seemed like a quality picture. Now, I am no too much of a camera expert, but I know my last camera had 5 MP, so this sounded like quite the upgrade. I read some good things about it and decided to buy it. It arrived ...
...with the deer in the headlights look....so many buttons....so many features....so little camera knowledge!! I read the manual to get myself started. It actually helped out a lot! In no time, I was taking some test pictures of my kids. I was amazed at the focus and the picture quality. It seemed I picked a good camera! I tried out the Manual Focusing, and I wasn't very good at it, so I stuck with auto focus. If you are a camera expert, you can probably ... Read review
