The twin lens package comes with two lens which are the 18mm-70mm lens and the 75mm-300mm lens. The single lens package comes with single lens which is the 18mm-70mm lens. I think that Sony Alpha 300 is very good for beginner because it include a lot of features such ... ...but hardly found on DSLR. Sony Alpha 300 is having all the 3 features stated which is very good.
If you get other DSLRs, most of them do not have integrated super steady shot. So, you will have to buy lens that have super steady shot feature which will be very expensive. Sony has made in integrated, so every lens will have the super steady shot feature.
The lens included will autofocus automatically. So, you do not need to focus it manually. If ...

Advantages: user friendly, light weight
Disadvantages: a bit plasticy

Autofocus is great, and will not allow out of focus shots when using burst...so, just set the autofocus on spot and use burst for spectacular shots of flying birds, etc.
I also find the antishake setup very valuable as I am a senior citizen who is beginning to have some hand shake and the system compensates ... ...is bundled with the camera may not match those of Canon or Nikon's so some owners may want to buy those in Carl Zeiss range. Unfortunately they will be put off by the steep prices and Sony will make the camera even more attractive if they could lower their prices. ...

Sony starts in the world digital SLR is a slow pace. First Sony brand model, the A100, appear on the site in June 2006 and taken to a year, along with a companion, the A700 Prosumer model that was launched in September 2007.
