...purchased the XTi with a Canon 18-55mm lens and then purchased 2 additional lenses, one of which was a Tamron and the other a used Canon lens. I have found no issues with buying other brand name lenses to add on to this camera - they seem to all work just fine with them. Picture quality is overall awesome! Nikon has set the bar with the camera. It has everything you need. A bit expensive but worth the money. The only you need is the extra grip thats like $100 or so. This camera is better than the canon 40d and it also has a bit more features. The shutter is way faster and also doesnt sound like it is going to break.
