Leica V-LUX 1
Review of Leica V-LUX 1 by
wangearn
Advantages: top quality digital pictures
Disadvantages: none
The Leica V-LUX 1 is an excellent camera for the non-professional who still wants to take top quality digital pictures. Although there are those who complain that this camera is over-priced in that the design is the same as a Panasonic model, I prefer the Leica because I know Leica offers only top-quality products. akangirl
Advantages: Excellent zoom control and manual control
Disadvantages: Noise reduction affects images at higher ISOs
The biggest striking feature about this camera is the high optical zoom level which is usually between 12x in comparison to the 3x or 4x optical zoom that you usually get in consumer level cameras. Its main features are 10.1-megapixel recording (resolution up to 3648 x 2736), 12X optical zoom lens with optical image stabilization, swiveling 2" flip-down LCD, manual zoom and focus rings, 16:9 widescreen photo and movie modes, 32MB Secure Digital card. ... ...the features of an SLR, so the variety of settings is almost infinite.I found it much easier to use than a Nicon. Its playback mode is single / 9, 25-thumbnail display, calendar display, zoomed playback (16x max), image rotation (except for Raw), Slide Show, Favorite Pictures, Resizing, Trimming, Protection, Aspect Conversion, DPOF Print Setting . ...
