Advantages Easy to use, software easy to load and use Disadvantages Like most digital cameras, sometimes hard to capture movement
...As a first time digital camera user I found the Sony DSC P51 a breeze.
The software was easy to load, and the instruction book clear and easy to follow.
As well as taking quality photos for different uses(ie. for the web, or for printing etc) you can also make short movie clips.
I upgraded the memory stick from the start to 64Mb, and it stores hundreds of photos at low quality.
The zoom is also very good for a digital camera.
It also comes with batteries and a battery recharger which is good as the batteries can run down very quickly, especially if you use the LCD screen a lot.
The camera isn't too big or heavy and can fit in trouser pockets if necessary.
For the price this is a brilliant camera and simple to use for first time digital camera buyers....

Advantages Sturdy build, good quality pictures for its price, video out Disadvantages Menu control abit tricky, some buttons abit small
...The Sony DSC P51 is my first step into digital photography, and I'm happy.
Before buying this camera, I studied the market closely to see what was and was not considered hot. I then sat down and worked out a budget. To help decide this, I had to be clear what I wanted from a digital camera, as it seems that there was no end to choice as long as the price was right.

After setting a budget, I studied the selection available in UK digital camera magazines, until I found one matching my needs - the Sony P51 seemed to top the bill. For me, the clinching spec was its “video out” ability, allowing pictures...

Advantages Makes good, clear photos Disadvantages Buttons are too small
...After a long, tiring journey through endless pages of flyers, I decided on buying the Sony Cybershot DSC-P51. The first time I layed eyes on the camera, I knew immediately what every button and dial would do. It fit well in my hands and it worked immediately. So I started making random pictures with it and I printed out the best ones. These looked good from a distance, but were satisfactory at best when I took a closer look. Next, I started to play with the different options ad settings. I found that the dial worked well, the buttons not so. Deleting the pictures has proven to be quite tough, especially since I haven't got very delicate little fingers. The option to make short films is a nice feature, but it's quite useless since the films don't include sound. But that's not the point of a digital camera. The Sony Cybershot DSC-P51...
