Review of Dell XPS 730 H2C - Core 2 Extreme QX9770 3.2 GHz by
fanatico
Advantages: fully loaded
Disadvantages: huge, expensive
A good and newer version of the previous XPS 730 series. The chipset is now Intel Tylersburg which is of course better than the previous NVIDIA 790i Ultra SLi . Added support for other operating system is also a good innovation. The sound card which is the Sound Blaster from Creative makes it a very good sound system specially when paired with a high quality speaker. Still it has the H2C cooling process which made XPS 730 a very popular choice for ...

Dell Dimension 2400
Review of Dell Dimension 2400 - P4 2.8 GHz - 17" CRT by
hoong143
Advantages: cool and stylish design, reliable
Disadvantages: CRT monitor spoiled after 3 years, performance is slow after 5 years
I bought this Dell Dimension 2400 in year 2003, I have been using it for more than five years. The price is reasonable, and the specifications are considered quite good back to five years ago.
I like the design of the system, it's all black and quite stylish, even the keyboard and mouse are black too. I should say the keyboard is very nice to use, easy to type, as I have been using until now without any problems with any keys. It comes with Intel ... ...has been serving me for more than five years, and it's time to let it retire and get a new computer for myself. Overall, I think Dell products are reliable and trustful. By using this product for more than five years, I am really satisfied with Dell products. ...

Review of HP Pavilion Media Center m8400f - Phenom X4 9500 2.2 GHz by
nafkebo
Advantages: complete spec
Disadvantages: none
Nice setup. Lots of processing power and future performance expansion, since full speed isn't realized with existing configuration. Graphics and sound capability much better than I expected, can actually play some games out of the box.
Couldn't build a system for less money.
Cons: 32bit OS on 64bit hardware. Though, that may be more to do with ensuring stability, and if so, I'm OK with that. Speed is useless without stability. BACKUP and RECOVERY ... ...users files. Which means you will lose all your installed software if the harddrive crashes. Reinstalling dozens of programs and patches / updates is not my idea of a good backup plan.
Other Thoughts: The Vista Home Premium?? addition has a Windows Backup program which only stores categories of user data. It does not create a backup image and doesn't even create a backup of application files. Which means if your harddrive crashes, you will have ...
