The DVD-1920 is endowed with technology to unleash the full impact of DVD-Video picture quality. The DVD-1920 also uses 12-bit, 108-MHz video D/A converter to faithfully preserve the delicate low-level signals often lost during D/A conversion. With these advanced video image technologies, the DVD-1920 will reproduce with the highest resolution, DVD images on Progressive-compliant monitors and projectors. ...This dvd player has won so many awards in What HiFi, that I had to demo it.
As soon as I saw it, I bought it. Fantastic quality with a HDMi output as well. Fully scaleable picture to 720 and 1080dpi. It was bought as part of a complete Home cinema a/v system, and fits in perfectly with everything that I have.
It has played everything that i have thrown at it with ease, including photo CD's and multiple region DVD's. When outputted to a decent amp (another Denon) the sound quality is superb.
This is a perfect entry into High quality DVD players, and one that will last a very long time. Do not overlook this player beacuse of its lower price than many other ones. The quality will equally match, and exceed many many others...

Advantages cheap with an outstaanding picture quaity and good sound quality Disadvantages don't have a component output, but doesn't really matter
...i had this player as a gift from purchasing a 43" LG projection tv in 2002, at first i didn't even give a look at this player. When i play this player for the first time it just give a good result from the picture quality and sound quality.
But this player change into a nearly hi-end DVD player when i upgrading it for arround $80 in my country INDONESIA. The sound is very good n the picture gives me an enjoyment to watch a DVD movie, especially after i try this player with s-video output, it gives me outstanding picture with that price. This player can be a cd player for beginner audiophile but i'm not use this player for that, cause who would use LG for CD player if he got DENON for CD player, but in other hand if this player is compares with DenonDVD player such as Denon1920. This player has a better picture quality if upgraded...
