In June I purchased a laptop computer from Dell.com. It was a high school graduation gift for my step-daughter. I ordered the computer from Dell.com because my husband gets a company discount. But, I procrastinated too long, and was in a great hurry for the computer to be delivered. The laptop was ordered just as described, with no additional bells and whistles. This was her first computer, and I was not sure how well she would take care of it. Therefore, I went with the basic design, which was still a pretty awesome computer.Was it a fast delivery? Just let me tell you that these computers are built for you according to the specifications you order. They do not just reach up and take them off of a shelf. So, please, do not make the same mistake I made. Allow for the manufacturing time! Even if it is the basic computer, they still build it for you. This can take two to three weeks. However, after the computer is ready for shipping, Dell.com ships your product in the manner you requested when you placed the order. Since I fooled around so long in placing my order, I did not get an estimated delivery date in time for graduation. I was panicked! I explained my situation to Dell.com. They made my order a priority and upgraded my shipping to overnight with no additional charge to me. I think that is customer service at it's best!Dell.com communicates with you throughout the manufacturing process with status updates on your order. When your product goes out, they also give you the delivery information so you can track your shipment. For payment Dell.com will take debit or credit cards. They also have financing available, so you can make easy payments.I had a great experience with Dell.com and I definitely recommend this site. I was very satisfied with the computer and with the service.
