...purchased not 1 but 2 Dell Inspiron 1525 laptops. The price was right! My daughter got the bright green case and I got the blossom. Thier nice looking laptops, good size 15" screens, true color glossy. The keyboards seem to be much easier to type on then my old 9300 Dell laptop. Speed is good, and applications load quickly on boot up.
Although this laptop is a great deal for the price, there are some downsides to it. 1. The speakers are horrid unless ... ...to a better sound card. Dell boo boo on that one. The 1525 has Dell brand built in wireless, with xtra built in antennas for better connections. Ummmmm...Dell has some work to do on their wireless cards. My old 9300 has Intel wireless built in and I can pick up free wifi just about everywhere I go. Using the 1525 in the same places, I am unable to connect to the same wifi I get with my 9300. I should have upgraded to Intel wireless (kicked myself ...

Great laptop. It has a great user interface and is very good with gaming. One think that is bad about it is that it has a touchpad that is not the best. I recomend getting the Logitech nano mouse for laptop's. If you are considering buying this and Windows XP is an option. Vista is ok but XP is better. This laptop computer is lightweight and cute. Both our daughters have this model for school and they are perfect. Bluetooth enabling has help greatly with their needs to share information and there is more than enough storage for the longest term paper.
However, if I were shopping for either my husband or myself more would be required of a computer such as RAM and compatability, but for school, entertainment, and general communication purposes we ... ...of choosing a color was a big deciding factor for our daughters as well. It helped make it their "personal" computer. It is also affordable, which is important especially if you are shopping for more than one.
This model can also be updated easily should they find they need more functions and/or capabilities as they progress in their studies.

I'm livid. I absolutely hate this computer. I've had 2 laptops and 3 Pc's in my life. NEVER have I had so much trouble with a computer. I should have known from the start. Getting a person who spoke English as their first language was almost impossilbe. Finally I got someone who I could understand - but only after I threatened to take my business elsewhere. I was almost forced to take a larger computer (because my credit showed I could - long story). ... ...reinstall the entire system 2 times. It's the absolute slowest computer I've ever had. PLUS, if you ever need to replace anything you HAVE to do it through Dell. The universal products don't work on a Dell. The battery pack is about out and it's just been a year (we plug it in ALL the time). And OMG if your warranty runs out duck. It costs you $39.95 JUST to talk to someone about one issue. If you try to talk to them about another one it's $39.95 ...

...the lenovo Ideapad Y510 is really a personal entertainment center.it has a 15.4"wide screen.In our school,many people own their own Y.cos it's good to play video games.The Lenovo Ideapad Y510 eschews the soft roud edges and light colors of the other 15-inch consumer laptops,such as the DellInspiron1525,for a matte black finish and boxy shape.It feels solid and well-built,if a little on the heavy side,which isn't a bad thing.cos my classmate dont expect to bring it with them often.Lenovo is known for its excellent keyboard,and the Ideapad's is very good with thick sturdy buttons.I feel the screen is worse compared to some other laptops,such as Dell and HP ,not clearly yet.But it's ok
