Advantages: lightweight, 4 USB plugs Disadvantages: a little expensive
...on computers. But with the Dell Inspiron 1420 with all the features included, I had a very very easy time operating and understanding its features. It's lightweight and has 4 USB plugs for all your ipod, camera and mouse (if you want to use one).I chose the non glossy screen 'coz I don't want glares on my screen but my brother who's the computer wizard said that the glossy one is better for the screen's protection. For somebody that has a little experience ...

Advantages: High performaces laptop with middle budget Disadvantages: not clear camera
First of all I dont know what is the type of this laptop, but I have the red one. Maybe a little bit different with this product but most of all of the specifications are same.
I'm very satisfied with this product. A high performance laptop but the price is so good for middle level. The design is so compact, beautifull and simple. Its colour is so georgeus.
Its 14" TrueLife screen is bright. I like this laptop especially its processor, 2Ghz Core2Duo ... ...this laptop performances good.
But that processor is not enough. This laptop is supported with 2Gb memory with 667Mhz and 120Gb of harddisk capacity will satisfy you.
It has dual layer DVD R/W. we can burn some files into DVD format, good quality of speaker sound, 4 USB port, S-VGA port for TV.
But one thing I dont like of this product, eventhough it has 2Mb camera, its result is not too clean. Maybe i dont know its settings or what, how...well ...

Advantages: has many choices for buyer,so easy to carry Disadvantages: none
Dell Inspiron 1420 is so easy to carry,it has a so thin and light body, though its screen is 14.1",i think it is easier to carry than some 13" laptops.
Its look is also pretty, their are many colors for you to choose,it will be suitable for more young people. It has Intel core 2 Duo T5450 and Intel Pentium Dual core T2390 and Intel core 2 Duo T5850 and Intel core 2 Duo T7250 and Intel core 2 Duo T5750 for you to choose, you can choose a best processor ... ...think these choices show the Dell company`s policy, they are doing their best to make every buyer to get the laptop which they want it to be.The battery is also has two kind,6-cell and 9-cell,if the most of your time are your moving time,i think you should buy a 9-cell battery,it can make your laptop run longer time.
But the operating system, though it is a new system that Microsoft has produced,i think the Xp operating system will be better for us. ...

Advantages Extremely fast computer, relatively cheap Disadvantages Required cooling pad, expensive repairs needed after 1st year.
...As my graduation gift, my parents agreed to buy me a laptop for college, anything under $1600. Because my school had a discount through dell, we decided to try to go through them. We bought an inspiron1420 and decked it out with the fastest processor, fastest hard drive, and most RAM possible. On top of this I threw in a superior sound system and a high level graphics card. I was confident this computer would get me through college. However, I quickly noticed that whenever I played any game where graphics were even mildly intense, the computer began to heat up to near unbearable levels. So, slightly annoyed, I picked up a cooling pad. After that, things went fine until this summer. The computer blew through download times, browsing internet sites was cake. I was very happy for a year.
To make a long story short, my computer...
