Dead Rising for Xbox 360

Advantages: Great story and compelling game play, massive amounts of zombies
Disadvantages: if you dont have a HD tv you wont be able to read the small text

Dead Rising is the closest thing you'll ever get to playing George A Romero's '.... of the Dead' franchise. Dead Rising has been a great game when I need to blow off some steam. Although I have to admit I have played a whole lot through the story mode. I normally just jumped into the game and starting killing as many zombies as I can. Although the story line is pretty intriguing when I manage to make myself do that. Advantages: Brilliant graphics and all round gameplay

Dead rising is not for the faint of heart or anybody who faints at the sight of blood. Capcom's tribute to the zombie cult stand's alone in the genre and is by far the most violent and bloodthirsty game I have ever come across. Brilliant graphics and all round gameplay make this a brilliant alternative to the first person shooter. Fan's of George A Romero's work will love the setting and feeling of the game which envokes the atmosphere of the classic ...
...that it has nothing to do with the movie, zombies roaming a shopping mall and feasting on survivor's is exactly reminiscent of this classic movie (see also my review of "Dawn of the Dead" the 2004 remake). Disadvantages Somewhat lacking in storyline, not very varied

...Dead Rising, as you can most likely tell by the game's cover, is based around Zombies. You play the role of a photographer, who is always aiming to get the best shots for the best story. The story kicks off as you are taken via helicopter to a town infested by zombies. You set down on the roof of a shopping mall and the adventure begins. Your not alone though, along the way you will secure allies. These people will help you along the way, and provide you with items such as maps, and other objects. The game is excellent in it's attention to detail. Most things around the shopping mall can be used as weapons. For example, garbage cans, plant pots, cash registers from shops, etc. Items can also be taken from "zombies". For example, "thug" zombies will drop knives, "police" zombies will drop hand guns. Disadvantages Real time factor gets slightly annoying

...I gave dead rising a 5star rating for a few reasons which, in my opinion, make it one of the best titles to purchase on the 360. Firstly, dead rising is the ONLY game on xbox 360 to use the consoles full processing potential. On many games you can notice people materialising out of thin air and when they get to far away they will just 'disappear'. This is not the case on dead rising, when standing on the roof of the mall you can see zombies about 1/2 a mile away walking and performing realistic actions. Not only this, you are constantly surrounded by literally thousands of zombies at a time, all of which are moving etc. The games story is based on a 'real time' system where you have 72 hours (game time) to solve the mystery of the zombie infested mall.
