Datalogic Gryphon D220

The Gryphon series of hand held readers combine outstanding reading performance at an instinctive reading distance. Gryphon D220 with embedded RS232 and USB interfaces, which are interchangeable simply by selecting the right parameter configuration and changing the cable. The USB interface is fully compatible with all existing USB standards: USB KBD Wedge emulation, USB COM emulation and USB IBMPOS so that the reader can be used in any application in the ICT and POS market. In addition, the reader does not need an external power supply since it can be powered directly from the PC. The Gryphon D220 is capable of interface auto sensing, as it can automatically identify whether a USB or RS232 cable has been inserted. The device parameters must be set correctly for the interface, and they can be configured either by bar codes or by using the DL SmartSet configuration software. This new model in the Gryphon series represents a premier for Datalogic since it is also the first Datalogic linear reader enabled to read Reduced Space Symbology (RSS). This is an emerging symbology, which can contain a greater amount of data in smaller space, and is particularly suitable for applications in the retail/food and healthcare sectors. In addition to reading traditional linear codes, the D220 model can also decode PDF417 codes.
