Don't even think twice if you get this dvr when you join dish-net you don't have any concerns. I have one of these too. It works great! I like it better than a vcr. You can tape on it with out a tape and it does the same as a vcr. It plays, records, pause, fastfoward and even rewinds. I have never had any problems out of it. It works so good. It shows really good pictures and has nice sound quality. It is also very easy to use and even the kids can use it. This is a fantastic DVR! Picture perfect quality and sound. My Husband has this DVR and a VCR does not hold a candle to it. VCR players are a thing of the past. He watches Nascar and he always records it due to his work schedule. When we watch the race on the DVR it is like being at the track! We got Direct TV Plus HD DVR when we moved into this house about a year and a half ago. With all the great gadgets that go with a "Home Theater", this is just icing on the cake! We are reality TV junkies. With American Idol, Super Nanny, Wife Swap, Ghost Hunters, Smarter Than a Fifth Grader, Beauty and The Geek....You have the idea. A lot of these shows come on at the same time on the same night. Impossible to watch what we want at the time it airs. ...
...and all shows we want. Easy remote so that even I can record and go back to what I want to watch. We are able to record shows and then pull up the menu of all the shows recorded. Sometimes it's even the next night when we decide to watch the shows we recorded. One great feature about watching recorded shows is that you can fast forward through the commercials. Love it!
