This dvd recorder steps into the future. With options like just pressing the record button and it starts. Usually you have to program your machine to do that. Or mess around till you finally decide to get the book out. It also can receive digital and analog broadcasts. Just in case you still have the analog tv set. Is great to use with HDTV. The SD slot allows you to hook up your camera to see pictures. Who has heard of that with a dvd recorder. ... ...the same amount. Yet with this dvd recorder you get so many more features. Advantages: the features and quality Disadvantages: not even one
1. Picture - HDTV is outstanding, DVDs are better, and I have yet to get Blu-Ray. Standard def tv is pretty good on this set, though once we added the HD channels to our cable package, we no longer watch any sd programming except the kids, who watch cartoons (and they look good on this set). Out of the box settings are not opimal, check the avsforum for specifics. Once the settings are changed, this set will look better than most twice the price.
... ...any tube tv, just don't use the bass boost as some distortion can occur. We use the tv speakers for everyday use and a surround system for movies.
3. Reflections - Hardly any that we notice. We upgraded from a tube tv, so this is infinately better. Our room is dark, so that was not an issue.
4. Motion - Zero blur! All (yes even 120Hz) LCDs suffer from this to some extent. This set does not - excellent for sports.
5. Viewing angle - almost 180 ...

I would like to say that i got brought this DVD player for christmas and now it doesnt work. After about 6 months of having it, the sound is going...it isnt the tv because its fine and the menu is really hard to navigate round.
I think the design of the box has something to be desired as its really ugly!
If i could turn back the time now i would def not have brought this and spent a little more money on a better and more reliable DVD player.
If ... ...they should check out someone elses and ask them how reliable theirs is before they think about buyin one and if you have little children and dont want them watching adult DVDs, you should check that the DVD player can put parental locks on so that when you insert a DVD the DVD does not play.
So say you put it on PG it will only play DVDs up to a PG.
Or 15...so it will play- U PG 12 and 15s only.
This can be very useful!!!
