Simple But Great Player
Review of Philips DVP3980 by dylan

Advantages: good picture quality, easy to use
Disadvantages: none

I bought this Philips DVP3980 DVD player two months ago to replace my old one that broke in my living room. I selected the player mainly because of its low price and the Philips brand is reliable. So for it does a great job and lives up to everything it says. It is a very simple DVD player, but has most of the basic functions of a DVD player. This player is simple to install and the quality of the picture is pretty good. The box itself is very slim ...
...features that are easy to use. In addition, if you have to stop your movie, it will remember where you left off at and play it from that point on the next time you want to watch it. All in all, this is a great deal and there is nothing to complain about it really. I will highly recommend it. ... Read review

Review of Philips DVP5960 by patan425

Advantages: price, quality
Disadvantages: NONE

...I have a TV with Philips 32PW9551 HDMI input and was looking for a DVD player HDMI, good compatibility with DivX and priced in the range of € 100 .. After watching this has been quite the option that is best suited to what I was looking for. He also felt the Oppo 971H or 981HD, but they are not in physical store in Spain as well as being in the range 200-300 €. My first impressions are very good, via HDMI 1080i and upscale quality improvement lot ...
...on the contours have disappeared and the definition is much better. Another aspect to consider is its design, quite beautiful and thin (approximately 4cm). The DivX compatibility have not tried hard but all the comments I have read are very positive so I do not think there are problems. Available USB input, but it is very slow (USB 1.0) to display JPEG pictures in high definition. The latter aspect is clearly room for improvement ... Read review

Review of Samsung DVD HD870 by chrome

Advantages: reads really all supports
Disadvantages: poor manual

Some months ago I bought this DVD players because my last was broken. The excellent support has convinced me to buy it; in fact this DVD player supports DVD / DiVX / XVID / MPEG 1-2-4. Aesthetically, it's nice and light (when you buy one gets the impression that the box is empty!)! There are yellow lights when it is on, meanwhile the lights are red when it is switched off . The options on the player are enough good to make an easy use even without ...

You can view images normal and full-screen (16:9) and adjust the image depending on the size of your TV screen (16:9 or 4:3). In my opinion, the essential quality for which a player can be judged positively is the number of formats and that is really surprising, reads them all: MPEG 4, AVI, DIVX 3.XX, 4.XX, 5.11, 6.XX, XVID, MPEG 2, DVD AND S-VCD SVCD ...
