Advantages: Latest Technolgy
Disadvantages: It should play all discs even scratched one

...No one can beat the Sony products, that is why they are always number one. Also when compared to other companies, they never ever reduced the rate to sell the products. Because there is a customer for always Sony. Real DVD picture clarity is delivered by the player.Long lasting with competitive rate in the market. Progressive scans, Dolby Digital etc. Even you can able to identify which is 5.1 and which is Dolby digital surround sound. This is a ... Read review

Style with Performance
Review of Philips Soundbar HTS8100 DVD surround system by net24x7

Advantages: Elegant and wall mounting design, in built DVD
Disadvantages: Lacks vedio input

...channel audio devices. Philips has really taken one step ahead to make this product to be placed and used quite conveniently. Experiencing sound could be endless so they have approximated the need and built an all rounder here. The Philips HTS8100 Sound Bar is one of the newest virtual surround systems with a single speaker plus a subwoofer. The main unit has a long, thin speaker system-the sound bar and the system is power packed with in built DVD ...
...to spread the sound equally. The main unit can be placed either on a table or mounted on wall. Although the system is quite stylish and attractive enough to gain attention of style first buyers, it lack the video input, which certainly limits the usage. Sound quality is only excellent with movies and it somehow disappoints with music. ... Read review

Philips DVP5990
Review of Philips DVP5990 by bawater

Advantages: USB support, converts CD to MP3
Disadvantages: None

Its fantastic being able to get a player with this function in this price range, the USB was the first thing i tried out! right out of the box. USB works great and Xvid files ran from a flashdrive Smooth as silk. Mpeg also played great from the USB. DVD rips run from the USB drive with menu and scene selections and chapters can be navigated with the number pad. The manual says "The USB jack does not support the connection of other USB devices except ...
...power to power up Harddrives, so maybe if an external powered HD it most probably will work. File names on the USB appears to be limited to 14 characters. The manual says that for divx it supports .srt, .smi, .sub, .ssa, and .txt. idx/sub pairs also work. Tried 2 WMVs on it so far. Both played fine. The manual says it only supports "main profile" WMVs, not "advanced profile" nor DRM-ed WMVs. Plays WMV9 files (poor compatibility with older WMV8,7) ... Read review

Advantages: Reasonable Price, very compact, wonderful picture quality
Disadvantages: no

...be able to see the D-Link MediaLounge DSM-320RD in www.ciao.com, It's the dvd player I now were using . I like it very much, Following is my experience using it. It looks like is so attractiveness, and dexterous .Moreover its outlook is like so thin, Takes it in my hand, it's similar to a paper .Reasonable Price, very compact, wonderful picture quality, would recommend to those looking for a very good up scaling DVD player. I am very happy with ...
...jump to Blue-ray but based on the high reviews and the fact that this player is 1/4 of the price I give this one a shot.It may not be blue-ray quality, but this DVD player was a major improvement over my 5 year old Sony progressive scan player. The picture is noticeably more clear and the sound quality is much improved. I'm no audio/video expert, but I can say that this player produces noticeably better picture and sound from the Standard Definition ... Read review
