Don't even think twice if you get this dvr when you join dish-net you don't have any concerns. I am a very objective person when I tell someone about a product and I don't have anything bad to say about this dvr. From the button placement to the dvr features over 90 hours of recording. Imagine this record with search your favorite shows. Now imagine skipping through the commercials and a recording as good as the original. You can rewind from live tv if you see something interesting a must have for sports or news and without the obnoxious sounds that the tivo makes. I wouldn't even consider direct tv if they didn't have the same maker of this dvr. Now check this out! The remotes are wireless-what does that mean you say. Well you can change the channel in another room. That means you can buy a wireless tv transmitter and you can put satelite in your indoor gym without having a satellite box and you can change the channel from your gym in another room. Check out www.x10.com cheap and high quality! The only drawback i've found is concerning scheduled recording and it being hard to swap the two programs if you want them on the other channel if two programs are recording at about the same time, but this can be overridden. If you watch tv 1 and your preferred channel for recording is tv 2 you won't know tv 2 is recording but if you have two recordings at the same time it will take both channels and you will have to watch one of the recordings. Fear not though you can always watch one of your recorded shows while they both record. Awesome. Thank me later.
