When I first got the Creative Zen V Plus 4 GB as a gift about a year ago, the first thing that I loved was its simple yet modern design.
Small, light, rounded corners and almost monochromatic with a small yet clear screen, it is indeed the perfect MP3 player to hold in the palm of your hand and carry along anywhere you go.
It came with a small velvety-like bag, small headphones, an adaptor to play all your favorite tunes in your Stereo, and a USB cable to connect to the computer.
After having installed the software, transferring MP3s from my desktop computer to my Zen proved to be as easy as 1-2-3, and following the instructions was quite easy.
It can hold up 740 and more songs (provided there aren't any photographs stored in its memory, which take up much more space). It is also possible to download video clips and watch them on your Zen V Plus.
The quality of the sound is better than that of the picture, due to the smaller resolution of the screen.
Photographs and pictures can also be stored and viewed in a normal format or by zooming in on them. Sound quality is great, and it comes with a volume "controller" or restrictor that adjusts the desired max volume.
It comes with 7 different audio equalizations, which are Classical, Disco, Jazz, New Age, Pop, Rock, and Vocal. The available play modes are pretty much the same one finds in WMP (e.g. shuffle, repeat all, track once, etc.).
Other available settings and features include Microphone, Line-in recording, Organizer, Removable disk, Date and Time. It also comes with FM radio.
The music library can be divided into Playlists, Albums, Artists, Genres, All tracks, Recordings, and Bookmarks.
Another cool feature available is found under the DJ menu where one can choose the album of the day, the most popular or rarely heard songs in order to never get weary of listening to the same thing over and over again.
If you are thinking of buying an MP3 player of good quality and moderate price, Zen V Plus is a wise choice, for it has many features that could match those of an iPod for an amount of money that will not hurt your pocket or your monthly budget.
