The first 2D/3D combo chipset from 3DFX, the Voodoo Banshee inherits its speedy processor core architecture from the legendary Voodoo2, adds support for fast SDRAM, and brings true 128-bit graphics to the table. The 3D Blaster Banshee comes with driver support for DirectDraw, Direct3D, DirectVideo, ActiveX, DirectX and Glide, as well as a 'MiniGL' driver for hot games like Quake 2. The card is ideal for 3D design software as well as games, with a full 3D feature set. These features include: 16-bit Z-buffer, sub-pixel and sub-texel accurate perspective correction, transparency and chroma-key with color mask, alpha blending on source and destination pixels, bump mapping, per-pixel table-based fog/haze effects, per-pixel MIP mapping, trilinear filtering, anti-aliasing, and palettized and compressed textures. Advantages 16mb Memory, 3DFX technology, I thought it was cheap Disadvantages Absolutely rubish, Very pixelly(Is that a word)
...You probably know now by the title of this opinion that I really hate this graphics card.
This card has 16mb memory, and does indeed play games that require 3DFX technology.
It cost £100 at the time, and was a big mistake.
The problem with it is that when using my mouse to navigate around windows, the visual display of the mouse, moves up or down the screen. So, for example, the mouse moves up the screen, and I cannot move the mouse any lower than half way down the screen. But, if you put where the mouse would need to go to click on the Start button at that half way point on the screen, and click the start menu would open.
So, basically the mouse is working, but the visual display on the screen of the mouse is incorrect.
I have tried formatting my computer many times, but it does not solve the problem. I have tried many...

...The Creative Labs3DBlasterBanshee is a graphics card from Creative Labs, based on the 3dfx Voodoo Banshee chipset. It is a combind 2D / 3D card with 16MB of RAM on board, and it kicks arse. It's a classic card, not as great as the new Voodoo 3, 4 or 5 obviously, but still a worthy card. I stuck it in a Pentium 133 with 32MB of RAM and found myself running Quake 2 and Half-Life full speed in their highest resolutions, that's just how much this card kicks arse. Now it's with my new AMD K6-2 500 and I think that with this card I have as powerful a games machine as I could want. Mind you, the card only supports 16-bit colour and will slow to a crawl in anything higher. But with that in mind, this is still a good card to have if you're on a budget....

Advantages it works Disadvantages everything but the fact it works
...I have just read two opinions that say that the Voodoo BlasterBanshee is a good card - what planet did they come from.
If you are thinking of buying this product, save yourself whilst you still can. Not only has if got a bad baking by 3DFX but the drivers seem to conflict with every decent program ever made.
If you have an onboard graphics card in your mother board, you have yet another reason to avoid the destructive properties of this demon.
Ok so it has 16MB of memory on it. When did the world get so caught up in believing that anything with a lot of memory is good. Let me tell you how it works, You start of with one meg of ram and upgrade to two, the computer seems to go faster no end. This is an illusion because 1 meg is not enough. However once you get above 8 meg in a card, you dont realy notice the difference. Software...
