Compaq - Power supply fan

Advantages Fast, Fast, FAST!!! (Oh yeah... and easy to set up and use, too.)
Disadvantages Huh?!!? No stereo speakers?!?!

...CDs and DVDs, get online help from Compaq's knowledge center, adjust my sound card's output volume, and manually put my computer into "standby." The keyboard is handsome and ruggedly built. The keys are very quiet when pressed. They have a nice, solidly tactile feel to them, with none of the "mushiness" common in many keyboards I've used with computers past. The keys are also very easy to read, even when my home office is dimly lit. Another very impressive feature of the Compaq Presario 5004US is how quietly it runs. My old HP Pavilion 4550Z used to drive me nuts with its loud, droning power supply fan and clickety-clacking hard drive; in contrast, the Presario 5004US emits only the very faint "whoosh" of air from the power supply and interior cooling fans. Disadvantages Cabling can be a bit of a nightmare

...redundancy added to it with additional power supply and hot plug fans being added all reducing potential down time. ********** Manageability************* HP have a device called the Integrated Lights-Out Standard, this is a device that is integrated into the server and allows you to power off and restart the server as if you were stood in front of it, you can also watch and interact with the boot sequence, load virtual CD's and Floppy disks into the server from anywhere. With the purchase of an additional licence the ILO can provide keyboard and mouse interaction when the operating system has loaded, so you can be truely stood at the server keyboard from 1000's of miles away. One Observation I have of the ILO is that it can be slow for the screen to react so it is really for when all other tools such as terminal services have failed on you... Read review
