Designed especially for those demanding applications where wide format labeling is required, the new CLP 8301 printer is a high performance wide web printer with a powerful 32-bit system architecture behind the scenes to provide almost instant labeling even with the most complex of label formats. With a print speed of 4 inches per second, 300 dpi resolution, print width of 8.6 inches and media width of 9 inches, this is indeed a performance machine, but at a sensible price! With Citizen's own strict demands for ease-of-use and reliability in mind, the CLP 8301 printer features an incredibly easy media loading system with a clamshell mechanism and top cover for the quickest and easiest of access. Color-coded operator cues make media and ribbon loading simplicity itself. Using the LCD control panel to make changes to the configuration is very straightforward with logically set out menus and categories to quickly adjust the printer's operation. And with quick servicing in mind, the printhead and the media plattens can each be changed in just one minute! Easy connection to the outside world is via the standard parallel and RS232C serial interfaces (up to115, 200 bps) and optionally IEEE 1284 high speed parallel, Ethernet networking or a USB interface modules. For complete compatibility, the printer features an industry standard software emulation allowing easy connection to many software packages. Alternatively, Citizen's Windows drivers are compatible with all common software packages. The heavy-duty metal case provides durability, yet easy access to the media and ribbon. The printer also features many mechanical adjustments to enable trouble-free, wrinkle-free ribbon usage, essential when using wide media to ensure smooth, clear printing. Also, the fully adjustable media sensor allows for black mark, label gap and notch detection across the media.
