The VX8300 is a good phone. Not great. Good. It has very good reception (of course in Florida, what doesn't? It works good as I travel as well). The battery life is very good too - I can go for days without charging - and I am a heavy phone user for both work and personal. The camera is passable, and the internal display is OK, but the front display is too dark and the buttons on the external panel are superfluous unless you want to bypass calls ...
...side to silence the ring instead. The Verizon Operating System is the weakest part of the phone features - this is not a phone for downloading lot's of ringtones, songs, or using the internet. Texting is passable, but some features are inconvenient - if you like the Motorola or Nokia interfaces, stick with their phones - I prefer Nokia almost everytime, but I stuck this one out for two years. Disadvantages: Don't always hear the initial lower level of the progressive ring tone volume.

I have had this phone for a year now, and love it. The sound quality is excellent, even on speaker. The 1.3mp camera takes very nice pictures and videos that have saved me when I've forgotten my camera at home. And the mp3 sound quality is good enough to not need to carry my ipod around with me all the time. ...on that reason I choose Sony Ericsson M600i that support with quick office Ms word, Ms exel and adobe PDF for internet file. Although it's an old fashioned but still usefull for me, it's replace with P1 that just have similar feature in a good design but too expensive.
