Need a pet that doesn't require, outside walks? Or do you need a pet that can clean itself. I have one and it is a cat, named Meow Meow.
He is black and has green eyes, he is so nice to have and I do not have to give him walks, or a bath. He is sweet and independent.
There are some interesting things about Meow Meow, he fetches. Yes, fetches. I can throw a hairbow and he will go get it, and bring it back, and even lay it out in front of you so as to say"again, again."
I love it.
He is cool.

I cannot believe it is the same little kitten, I had to plead with when he was found. His mother and him came around to my house and I fed them, and coaxed them into my life and heart. Eventually I took Meow, Meow, as my own, he became tamed and I wormed him and gave him flea remover, and he made me his owner. His mother found a safe home .

Cats are easy to care for. They do however love to sharpen their claws on all kinds of materials, even your furniture.
Alot of people get rid of their claws, by having them de-clawed. I think that is cruel. They were made to have claws, not be without them. Claws help them grasp things, climb, and capture small prey. Even if they are indoors, the still should have them.

A humane thing to detere them from clawing is, to fill a spray bottle with water and spray at them, when they go to clawing something.
The spray bottle method also helps them stop bad behavoirs, like, being on cabinets, tables, going where they are not permitted, jumping on curtains, you get the idea.

One important thing to remember, clean up their litter boxes everday. Get rid of waste and pee soaked litter. They will find a place to go do their business if you don't. They have been known to find a corner and go peepee there.

I have been a cat owner for almost 17 years. I have never had a major problem, except for a stray I took in that had the common, feline luekemia. I had to have it put to sleep. Sad really.

Feline luekemia can be avoided if you get your cat vaccinated. There is several other diseases that they need vaccines for. Your vet will tell you.

If you have a cat, and go on vacation, you can safely leave them behind, at home. But there are things to remember. For instance,
put, or unplug appliances , that have cords visible, or accessible.
Cats sometimes chew cords, this could electricute them, and possibly cause a fire.

Make sure you leave appropriate litter facilities, may mean more than one litter box, depending on how long you will be gone for. Make sure you have set out enough water, and food.

Prepare a seperate spot for food and water, this is in case water gets tipped over, and spills in food. I put the bowls in the kitchen sink, this ensures that water and food, if spilt will not mess up anything, or each other. Water is in one, while food is in other side.
Make sure you have toys, for kitty on floor, so they can stay active.

Some people forget about the thermostat. Make it appropriate temperature, while gone.
If you have other pets, like fish, frogs, snakes, etc. indoors, close off those rooms from cat.
While you are away, cat will play.
These are just a few of things to remember when getting, having, or taking care of a cat.

Cats choose people, people do not really choose the cat

Cats are tempermental. They allow you to pet them. They are their own "person".
