Advantages Value for money & most other things ! Disadvantages Lens kit not as flexible, viewfinder not good for left-eyers
...screen, which is different the 350S's dual display. The LCD screen shows image settings, battery information and also exposure info, the screen is quite nice because it's not too painful to look at but yet it's clear, visible and relatively bright. Below the viewfinder, there is a proximity sensor that instantly switches off when you are looking through the viewfinder, this is helpful as it can stop light from the screen distorting the colours when you are about to snap a pic. Nice one, Canon.
The viewfinder though, is still typical of Canon's DSLRs at an entry level; its size is relatively small and still looks a bit away. Despite that, you can still confirm the focus pretty easily, and the autofocus is well-lit when it is selected, most importantly, for those manual shots, the exposure info that you sometimes so need is set out clearly...

Advantages Great viewfinder, build quality, autofocus, range of lenses Disadvantages Occasional blown highlights, set exposure to -.7
...I love this camera, having had it for almost one year. Yes, it is a bit heavier than similar offerings from Canon, Sony and Olympus but this is due to it's build quality! Dslrs are not pocket cameras! They will have to take some rough and tumble and the extra weight helps the camera balance when used with larger lenses. I particularly like the extra bright viewfinder, very important and much superior to the Canon Eos 400D.
I bought this camera with the excellent 18-200vr and really love this lens. This is not a lens review but remember, when you buy a Dslr, you are buying into a camera range. It's essential to look at what accessories are available and Nikon do not disappoint in this area.
There are 11 autofocus points which should be enough for anyone.
Noise control at 400 iso is excellent and is available up to 3200 but is very...

Review of Canon PowerShot A650 IS by

Advantages AA batteries, flip screen, auto/manual, optical viewfinder Disadvantages Not very quick at processing.
...My plan was to find a camera that didn't keep me waiting on expensive batteries to recharge and an optical viewfinder for when the sun was too bright to read the screen. With the Canon A650 IS the optical viewfinder did not show the same amount as the screen and that was my only real complaint. Yes, it's a little bulky (300g - finding the right case did take some time) but very comfortable in my hands with all the buttons easily available. It's not pretty but the plastic construction feels sturdy enough for me. The flash is occasionally obtrusive but generally very efficient. It was only after seeing the pictures that I wished for RAW mode but, at £228, no real loss. The camera has 21 other modes from fireworks to marina and full manual. The included memory card is too small to make sense but there are tele converters and external...
