This is a great overall compact camera with a high standard of 12.1 megapixels. The camera enables you to shoot in RAW for easy editing.
It is quite an easy to use camera but at first it takes a novice a while to get to grips with it.
Manual and custom shooting settings are present which enable you to do some pretty serious portraits. A hot shoe is on the top of the camera so you can mount an external flash - great for low-light photography!
There is a stitch assist setting which allows panoramic pictures to be produced. I have found this particularly useful when using a tripod.
The camera has a 6 x optical zoom which is more than enough in my opinion for a compact camera. If you want the camera to be more telephoto then an external lens may be attached.
One drawback I have found is that the shutter speed is not quite as fast as in standard SLR cameras.
