Canon strikes again with the brilliant digital camera Canon PowerShot A650 IS! With an outstanding 12.1 megapixel resolution, that's solid proof that all your pictures will be perfectly crystal clear. It's 6x optical zoom is also a powerful function. I could take a picture of something a block away and still make it seem like it's right in front of me! And If that's not enough, (I can't imagine how it's not enough, but who knows) Canon PowerShot A650 IS also comes with a digital tele-converter which you can set at 1.5 or 2 to make your zooms even better. Dispite the wide range of zoom, the (manual or auto) focus is astounding- the camera is always in focus. Even if that is picture perfect, there's still more.

There's a self timer (2 seconds or 10 seconds). There's audio recording with a built in microphone- and it's quite good voice recording for a camera. You can edit your videos in the camera (that's a new edge already) and you can also resize your images in the camera. I believe it said somewhere that you can fix red eyes in the camera - but I have yet to use that function. (I always perfer computer editing, should I edit at all).

Connection to the PC is also easy. There's a 2.0 USB cord and the camera also accepts 1.0 SD memory disk. Like most new cameras, it's not compatable with computer under Window 2000, so heads up if you have older versions of PC. The format of the pictures will be JPEG when you enter it into the computer, but you can always convert them.

Canon PowerShot A650 IS uses 4 AA batteries each time. The batteries last quite a while too. For me, while using PowerSurge brand batteries, it lasts around 130 good pictures, with around 100 pictures deleted (yes, I'm a big fan of only keeping the good picture).

There's plenty of flash modes to choose from for those who understand how to use flash (I don't, but it's perfectly fine that way too.)

The built in memory is 32MB, I think, but you can always use memory cards and I believe you can store up to 1,000 pictures.

There are also different modes for the picture to be in, aside from the normal color mode. You can change the setting to Black & White, Sepia, Neutral and some others if plain color pictures don't suit you or you can't edit it on the computer. I personally perfer computer edit, like usual.

The camera is a bit on the heavy (10.4 ouce) and big side(4.4in X 2.7inX2.2in), but it is still perfectly portable. It does get a little tiring if you keep it in your hands for more than 2 hours, but I'm sure we can all manage.

It's a brilliant camera jam-packed with functions and options. Not very expensive for the quality, and worth every penny! Don't miss out!
