Advantages: Good value, multi function Disadvantages: large in size, heavy, and noisy during printing
...This particular inkjet printer from Canon is low in value and have multiple functions. Large in size, and the weight is relatively heavy. The good part is, you can use it as a regular printer, a photo printer, a copy machine, and a scanner. This model does not include the fax function. Also, it does not come with a cable upon purchase, you have to buy a separate cable for it.
There is one paper input tray in the back and one upper tray in the front ... ...port in the front in which if you want to print photos, you can plug connect your camera directly into the port and print. Beaware that there is no screen to display to preview or select what you want to print, therefore once you plug it in, you will have to print everything that's from your camera device.
This is a older model so it make quite a amount of loud noise when it start-up and during printing. You can adjust the size of paper from the ...

Advantages: low budget, multi function Disadvantages: big and heavy, hard to move around
This canon printer is my second printer, I did not have such a good experience with my first HP brand printer, which only last about six months and have the highest number of paper jam that I ever see in my life. But this canon printer corrects it all. This particular printer is a muti functions device that is capable of printing, copying, and scanning documents. I was able to perchased it for only $50 from staples when it was on promotion. Although ... ...this printer for more than a year now and it never jam even once. The only thing I did not like about it is its large size and heavy weight, which makes it hard to carry and takes up space. Also it make some loud noise when it sucks in the paper during printer, so I suggest not to use it around midnight and wake your family.
Overall it is a good printer, great for low budget buyers. ...

Advantages: cheap, cheap ink, prints good Disadvantages: heavy
This is a very unusual looking copier and to me it looks really eird. It is very sleek on the top. It is not hard to install or to use either. The ink does not even cost too much either, which is a plus. It prints really nice and the ink does not even smear at all. It even prints nice loking pictures as well. It is heavier than most printers though but is also rather small. It is a very cheap price for this kind of printer too. It really works really ...

Advantages Very good printer Disadvantages Very bad scanner
...I've had beautiful gloss prints from this excellent printer - miraculous at the price. What a let down, then, that it totally outclasses the scanner. I ran direct comparisons, at 300dpi, with an old Epson 1250 scanner - there was, it turned out, very little comparison. Simply put, the Epson produced smooth, sharp, colour accurate results, the Canon did not. Half-toning was the major, and quite visible, fault. You may wonder why I saw fit to compare it with the Epson. The reason is that Canon's printer deserves such a quality companion; and my advice is, buy a printer of this standard - Canon if you like - and don't buy a scanner until you can afford a one of matching quality....

Advantages Prints, Scans and Copies and isn't that expensive Disadvantages Not top notch quality; slightly flimsy
... Design
Looks & Feel: Not the most attractive printer, but suitably executive looking and smart enough for any office. It is designed compactly, and so a lot of functions are crammed into not that much space. The scanner/photocopier part that lifts up is very flimsy and does not give the impression of a good, solid piece of equipment.
User Interface: The button panel on the front of the printer is incredibly easy to operate. There's one button for "photocopy in colour" and one for "photocopy in B&W". There's a "SCAN" button, and an LED display that shows how many pages there are left to print. Completely foolproof!
Size: As I mentioned, it is relatively small and fairly light, and will fit on most coffee tables or even on most chairs. About the size of four shoeboxes.

Advantages easy to use, easy to change ink cartridges, good print quality, can print straight from carmera Disadvantages a bit on the large side, not compatible with all camera's
... This printer is easy to use from the start. From the setting up of the printer to the actual printing. The instruction manual and cd-rom are idiot proof. The cartridges are easy to install and readyly available to purchase (and not to expensive either).
The print quality is excellent even if you are using a low quality paper. Obviously the paper the better the quality. I use mine to print a lot of things for hand made cards and scrapbooking and get an excellent result with clear images and text.
This is an all round good printer/scanner/photo copier with lots of useful features such as printing straight from your camera and the 'fitting to page' button.
Excellent value for money and an ideal printer for families. Anyone can use it from kids doing school projects to mummy's that want to get a bit crafty!! ...

Advantages: Easy to install Disadvantages: leaking ink
...It can be use for the PixmaMP series of canon inkjet printers, and in my case, a MP160. Small and easy to handle and install, unlike like the HP one I use to have. The price are average, it would be better if you buy the multiple pack to save a couple bucks.
Frankly, it used up pretty fast, this probably happen to most inkjet printers, but sometime I would found evidents of leaking ink at the corner of the printed paper or when I replace new cartridge. The reason is unknown, not sure if it was the fault of the printer itself or the cartridge.
I can't say this is highly recommended item, but it is just something that is necessary for your printer....
