Advantages: Sooooo many features Disadvantages: None that I can think of
We use the CanoScan Lide 25 (which I'll refer to as Lide 25 from now on) at work and a handy little scanning tool it is indeed. It's very slim and lightweight and sits nicely on my desk, ready to jump into action whenever I need to scan a document or photo. You can copy directly from the platen (glass screen) to your printer or print or even email and it's very easy to set up. AN ABUNDANCE OF FEATURES
The Lide 25 uses a USB connection so ... ...handy indeed - saving on energy is always a better option. Unlike other home scanners I've used in the past the Lide 25 scans to a fairly high resolution of up to 1200 x 2400 dpi so when scanning photos you get very good quality images. The software that comes with the scanned allows you to scan documents to PDF too and you choose whether you want them in colour or monochrome or select the image quality you want from 75, 100, 200, 250, 300 or 400 ...

Advantages: scans pretty fast and simple to use Disadvantages: none
This is an ok scanner if you need or want something really simple that isn't going to cost much. It gets the job done. Just don't have a large range of features. It is really easy and simple to use and operate. Doesn't take long to hook it up to computer at all. It scans pretty good and doesn't take as long as other products. So I recommend this if you wanted some thing reasonabley cheap and is pretty fast in scanning things. It doesn't take much ...

Are you in need of a good quality scanner and can't really afford it? Well here's your solution: This great Canon scanner scans good quality images and yet it is not expensive at all, and is suitable for both Windows and Mac users. You're probably wandering what the catch is, and you're right there is one. This scanner is relatively slow at scanning images into the computer - and that is all - that's the catch. Pathetic really, when you think about it. The preview scan time takes approximately 16 seconds so a normal scan, depending on what resolution you've got it on should take from anything from 30 seconds. Now some people think this is really slow, but in fact it isn't really. Half a minute? Almost no time at all. Although, half a minute at 300dpi resolution...

Advantages Good quality scanning, No need for external power supply. Disadvantages Can be a little slower using high resolution settings.
...If you are looking for ease of use, then this is the one for you! One of the main advantages of this particular scanner is the slimmer design over others on the market. scan quality is outstanding and fairly quick. One of the other useful features is the software supplied by Cannon allowing you to do a variety of adjustments to your image BEFORE sending it to your PC. Another useful feature is the scanners ease of integration into everyday programmes such as e-mail. A major bonus of the cannon system over some of its rivals is that the system is entirely powered by the USB cable eliminating the need for extra power sockets. This unit is not the cheapest on the on the market or the dearest, but as a mid-range unit the LiDE25 offers excellent value for money in terms of price verses features and overall performance....

Advantages Great value for money,Easy to use. Disadvantages None.
...This is the first scanner that i have brought, purchased through work from Misco for just over £40.It looks stylish and looks like a more expensive model. It has a resolution of 1200dpi by 2400dpi.It is so easy to use as it only has three buttons on it for copy, scan and email so you don't have to be a brain surgeon to use it.It has your usual usb port but no other slots. Also scans books very well too i was surprised when i tried it.Just make sure that you keep anything flat on it otherwise it's not as good. All in all i was more than happy with my purchase and would'nt hesitate in recommending to anybody for this price. One more thing it's qiute compact too and does'nt take up too much room....
