Video Performance The video performance of the DCR-VX2100 is quite impressive. The camcorder includes three 1/3 in. 380K pixel CCDs which have 340K effective pixels for video and 340K effective pixels for stills. Good Points : Camera follows the classic Handycam design: a viewfinder centered on the back with the battery mounted below, a tape compartment and a zoom rocker on the right, a flip-out LCD monitor on the left, and ... ...front, capped with a rectangular lens hood.
Bad Points : Camcorder simply doesn't have professional audio connections, 24P and HD video, sophisticated image-parameter controls, and interchangeable lenses

When you having moving parts, expect parts to fail within a year if you are a heavy user. My last model (DCR-VX1000) did not require any service. ...of my family on my sony handy cam DCRHC90E. It is a amazing piece of technology.
It is 3.1 MP, 120 x Digital Zoom, Carl Ziess lens and records on a MiniDV tape.
What's more, it has a ''easy'' option where it lets you record even when you do not know much techy part of the camera.
I have done all sorts of recordings and still photography too using this model. It's media (i.e the memory stick and MiniDV tape) is compatible with standard readers ... ...Once you have recoreded you can directly and immediately see the nice moments on your TV or you can transfer the entire video / stills to your PC. The handycam comes with its software to do all sorts of studio quality tricks.
I am again recommending this to all, to all who would want to freeze and live every instant of their lives..... ...

First, the size of this camcorder is like the size of my palm. I can carry this all day long in my hand and I wouldn't get tired. No more of those lugging a whole camera bag just to put your camcorder it. It even fits in my pocket if I need to put it away. The zooming function is the best. Even the digital zoom looks like a Hi8 regular zoom. You'll be amazed how clear the digital zoom looks. If you have a widescreen TV, you can record in 16:9 mode, ... ...clear as it could be. If you set it with the correct speed when recording, I swear it will look like a DVD movie during playback using the S-video. It has the regular special effects and editing features that you'll come to expect from Sony. The intelligent flash will pop-up when it reads that there is isn't enough light.
