The sound is very good, loud and clear. It also has two headphone jacks, which is good if you have friends.
Battery life is reasonable, I think about 3-4 hours, although I've never watched it for this long continuously. It does run the battery down if its turned off with the battery attached, so I always remove the battery when I'm not using it. A spot annoying, but enough to make me break through the apathy barrier and do something.
All in all, I'm very happy with it. Highly recommend it to anyone in the market for one, and let me know if yours still runs down the battery like mine. Or if the little lid over the DVD opens fully on pressing the button....
