For us LiteOn DVD RW is very reliable, compare to the other product with the same price, LiteOn still the best. It's outstanding performance makes LiteOn have more advantages. I said this base on my experience that already using the other product. LiteOn can burning much more stabilize, such as if you burning the same size of file Liteon will burn and finish it by the exact time. I own this DVD ROM AND CD Writer combo. I bought at a discounted price when one of the computer shops in here sold it on sale. My experience with this accessory is somewhat okay as to its installation I really found it to be quite easy to install even though I am not into installing hardware I was able to install it with ease without the help of a technician. Well This was my second optical drive ,before this i had a sony combo drive(Cd writer DVD combo). So i badly wanted to get my hands on one DVD writer.I bought this one for way less price than any other drives .It worked for me well too.while writing CD's it worked efficiently. But when it comes to DVD's & when it comes to cheap DVD's it doesn't make a good equation at all, It doesn't work well with those cheap DVD's .Though it worked pretty well ...
...After a year or so the writer started giving me read/write problems,While still the more than 3 years old Sony Optical drive is working fine for me. But seems like things have changed by now, Many of my friends who bought new DVD writers are working fine with no above mentioned hitch. So now with new models launched by lite on i.e 20X DVD writer & onwards are quite efficient. So don't go for this, but those newer 20X ones. ... Read review
