This is a fantastic thing to have to filter your water and it become very clear. You need to soak before you use though. It keeps every thing from passing through but the nice clean water. It really comes in handy instead of spending lots of money on bottled water. I never would have thought it would work so good but it does. ...you will really enjoy this Brita water filter and pitcher. It is a really good size for a small family. And fits like a gallon of water in the fridge. It does take quit a while for the filter to drain through. I would say 3-5 minutes. That can be a little annoying if you are like me and fill up your own water bottles for the next day or need alot of water at once. (Bottled water it's amazing!) Filters last around three months. This is the 3rd type of water filter that I have owned and I have to say I am quite impressed with the quality of the water. I tested the water with my home tester and the water came out 95% pure - I have the classic pitcher and although I am very satisfied with the water cleanliness I do have a couple of areas that I am dissatisfied with. Often times when I am poring water (especiallly filling my coffee pot in the am) the filter pops out and releases ... ...husband and I in our household but we still run out of water frequently. It doesn't take very long to run wate through the filter, however. I have found that we get the best quality of water by changing the filter every two months.
