Advantages: Healthy, fresh bread you make yourself. Disadvantages: Lots of trial and error.
...my experience.
I love Oster products. This is more expensive than some other brands but this is the one my kids gave me for Mother's Day. I believe that they made a good choice....with ulterior motives!
This breadmaker can make 1 lb., 1 1/2 lb. and 2 lb. loaves of bread. I tried all three. The one loaf that came out good was with the 1 1/2 lb setting. There are 18 settings for different varieties of breads. I chose three different ones and tried ... ...loaf. Three crust settings for light, medium and dark. I tried all three of those as well. Again the one loaf that came out good was on the light setting. There is a good sized glass window on the top that I used and is handy to see exactly what was going .... wrong, as the case may be. There is also a dough/pasta setting that I can't wait to use! We are pasta lovers! The fresher, the better.
The non stick aluminum pan makes a horizontal loaf of ...

Advantages: It's inexpensive and will do the basic job Disadvantages: It's big, tall and bulky, runs fairly loud and takes many hours to process a bread
...mixed review. While this Sunbeam breadmaker is generally inexpensive enough and will certainly do the core job of providing you a way to make some decent homemade breads, it's pretty darn loud when operating and unlike some of the new more-modern breadmakers on the market, the production / baking time with this one is literally hours long! Additionally, you should be prepared that the size of this appliance on your counter will be B-I-G....even bigger ... ...an odd tall shape in particular which may not fit on every countertop if your kitchen has under-cabinet lights, for instance. All in all, I kept and used this appliance for appr 6 months and then I donated it to our local Goodwill store and bought a new one which was much more expensive, but worth it all in all. ...

Advantages: easy to use, program, clean Disadvantages: a bit on the "fancy" side
This is my first bread machine. I've had it for a couple months and am very happy with it. I have found that it is easy to use, program, clean, and maintain, and consistently makes very good quality bread, even on the quick bake cycle. The stainless steel exterior looks nice too.
The timer feature works okay, though you end up with the paddle cooked into the loaf when you get done. It's very nonstick and easy to remove yet leaves a hole in the bottom ... ...bit nicer to pause the process right before the baking cycle and remove the paddle so that it won't get cooked in. While a bit on the pithy side, the recipe book is also quite good. It produces better tasting bread then many of the pre-packaged mixes I have tried. It does, however, have a few typos. For example, the challah recipe on page calls for a temperature setting of 365 degrees yet the machine can only be set up to 355 degrees. Works just ...

Advantages: taste, easy to clean, easy to use Disadvantages: none
This is a very nice bread maker to have to cook. It has lots of different features and functions to use. I love the nice smooth black color that it has. You are able to cook so many different kinds of breads in it as well. They come out so warm, moist and very good to eat. It does not take too long to make the bread at all. It is so easy to use and does not take much to clean at all but some times you might need to sock in some water. The bread is ...

Advantages: soft, doesn't take too long Disadvantages: sometime hard to clean
I bought one of these about four years ago after watching some one make bread with theirs. It worked so well and seemed simple. So I got one for our family and it has some nice features to use to make different kinds of bread. My kids and all liked all the different kind of bread that you could make. It was so delicious and turned out really good. It was soft and didn't take too long to make homemade bread. It really comes in handy when you have ...
