Phillips Boom Box
Review of Philips AZ 1140 by nyumix

Advantages: Small, have cassette deck, acceptable price
Disadvantages: -

I think this model is the smallest Phillips Boom Box so far. Well at least that's what I see in the stores here. Even it is very small like a box (just like the name) but it has few features which is good. For example, you play or put CD or MP 3 with this Boombox, but also still can play cassette because it has cassette deck. For me this is great, because I still have plenty collection of old songs with cassettes. And you can listen to Am or Fm ...
...electricity for example if you bring it when you go traveling, don't be worry. You can use battery for it. Very easy to operate. Personally, I like this model since it does not take a lot of space in my house. But there is a little thing that I don't like. Since it has small speaker, the quality of the sounds is not as good as the big stereo. But of course it's acceptable since it is not build for something like that. ... Read review

Cheap to buy but not on quality
Review of COBY CX CD241 by SheGrizz

Advantages: small good sound
Disadvantages: none so far

This was a cheap little boombox that i bought for my dogs.... Yes i said i bought for my dogs... when I am gone during work I leave dogs in kitchen and laundryroom area and I always have a radio on for them. I find it helps to soothe them and they cant hear stuff outside and bark excessivley... for longest time i had very old Radio shack portable for them.. well after a year of trying to keep stations in and comming home to the dogs jamming to static.... ...
...this one at my favorite place... my local pawn shop... it was a nice compact unit and would fit on top of my microwave cart, out of the way. I tested at the shop and then brought it home... I hooked it up and set a station and i was amazed!!! The sound quality of this little box is very good! The weird "bug eyes" like speakers, set kinda on the side, make the stereo sound travel around the room. It is easily heard and enjoyed on a lower volume, as ... Read review

Review of Citizen CD 102 by xiaojun111

Advantages: good sound quality and design, easy to use and carry
Disadvantages: none

I bought this Citizen CD 102 Boombox as a present for my son who is ten years old. He was very happy with it. I had seen a lots of reviews online before I purchased it, this Citizen Boombox did not disappoint me. It is the best sounding box in it's price range. This unit has it all, including CD, Cassette and an AM/FM tuner. You can record from CD to tape with very low volume, no need to keep it blasting. The FM tuner is digital, and the unit comes ... Great Small Boombox
Review of Sony Xplod CFD-G505 by bboothe83

Advantages: Great Sound, Portable
Disadvantages: None

...on the list. This Sony Xplod model was the one that we chose. It worked out just fine for our needs and had great sound in the process. It also has some cool looks. It has a large subwoofer in the front which provides great sounding bass for rock and rap songs. This model had 20W total power, which is plenty for this size radio. You can also plug your PC or laptop into this which works out well. Some other features include an AM/FM radio, CD player, ... Read review

COBY CD248 - More Bust than Boom
Review of COBY CX CD248 by JohnA

Advantages: None
Disadvantages: Many

...see. First off, this COBY CD248 has all of the normal features you would be looking forward in a boombox. It has AM/FM radio and stereo cassette/player recorder, with 2 way cassette recording (that includes CD & radio). It is also equipped with a top loading compact disc player, and a jack for you to plug into so you can use headphones if you so desire. Sounds like a great deal eh? Not so fast my friend. The fun started when we took the box down ...
...own CD's, so that was the first thing we tried in the box. Ah Beach Boys music...first song. Second song...then on the third song it started. Skip, skip, skip. I forwarded it a couple of songs, and tried again. Skip. I figured it was my CD, so I loaded up another. This one played 5 songs, and then the skip began again. Frustrated, I decided to try another tact. This time I went back to the room and got 2 regular music CD's, not ones that I had made. ... Read review
