The blender I had before only cost me $5 at a yard sale and didn't work very well so I decided to upgrade. ...want to pulse you have to switch between on and off repeatedly which is annoying but not a big deal considering how well the blender blends. Some may not like this type of blender but I do. I think it does a very good job blending up things. It is very easy to use and you can blend up so many things with this.
