I recently bought this Oster blender as a replacement for my old cheap one which had worked out. After reading many reviews I finally decided to purchase this Waring blender. Immediately it was put into service crushing ice and blending mixed drinks for about 10 guests at my birthday party. It was not disappoint and worked perfectly. I firmly believe that the plastic jar is sturdy and safe, yet it is cleans up better. The blender I had before only cost me $5 at a yard sale and didn't work very well so I decided to upgrade. The price I paid was about $60 which I thought was pretty high and I have seen it for more than that. The best thing about this blender in my opinion is it's ability to really chop up ice. ...want to pulse you have to switch between on and off repeatedly which is annoying but not a big deal considering how well the blender blends. It looks nice on the counter with the chrome beehive design and it is very durable. The pitcher is glass which I like much better than the plastic ones. It is easy to clean and very simple to use. So far, I am positive I am going to get my money's worth. This is a fantastic blender. I have had it for 2 years now, and have had no problems with it (unlike the previous blender I bought, which was a cheaper brand, and who's motor started to whine and strain after only a few months of use).
