I have owned about 12 different cell phones in my life and when it came to the blackberry the buck stopped there. I owned the pearl for about year and a half and it was and awesome phone.. I recently upgraded to a curve which has a two mega pixel camera and a little different media browser it also has wifi which the pearl does not. The phones capabilities are exactly the same as far as web memory and speeds go Which isn't your road runner speed but not as slow as dial up. As most cell browsers there is limited capability on how and what you can see on the internal web browser! The pearl can be attached as a "tethered modem" to any computer if you have the internet plan on the phone. Which means u set up a dial up connection on your pc hook your blackberry in via USB cable and you can log on to the web. Some service providers charge a fee for doing this but T-Mobile will charge no extra fee as well as assist you a 100% in setting it up. The phone has a sd card slot so your memory expansion is unlimited it comes with excellent pc software where you can transfer files and media extremely fast and easy. The program also comes with a automatic conversion program so your files don't play funny or not at all. Of course there is exceptions to every rule and I am sure not all works like that but I have found no files that didn't work for me. Bluetooth of course as well as very user friendly mobile online access. Web mail and instant messaging! Lots of downloads for this phone such as Yahoo GO and Google Maps, which is a must, almost as good as a gps system on your phone.
