I was a died-in-the-wool Motorola user for years. That has changed now with my first smart phone. The 8100 is my first experience with RIM BlackBerry and I have been converted. The quality and functionality is outstanding in comparison to my previous RAZR V3. The screen is large, even for a small phone, and very easy to read indoors and out. The connection through my T-Mobile Edge technology performs at a nice rate of speed and the browser loads quickly. I set up access to all my email accounts, and .I use it as an portable music player when I go hiking or biking. By purchasing the 1GB memory chip I can load around 200 or 250 songs as well as numerous photos. The camera takes much higher quality photos than my Motorolas did, with 1x, 3x, and 5x zoom capability.
If you're thinking of getting your first smart phone, the 8100 is a great choice.was
