Here I come with another review. I've purchased this phone around seven months ago. It's an essential tool for my job and it find it very reliable. I may mention sparingly some things about my provider. So, if I do so, remember my provider is T-Mobile.
SMART PHONE?
Smart phones are getting very popular this days. Everyday people needs more access to information, news and of course, other people. This device can provide us endless options. It's almost like a personal computer pocket size. However, the Blackberry pearl has some limitation with it's own software. You will be able to download addition software and handle almost everything you can on a computer, however, it may become somewhat tricky.
LET'S START ON THE BEGINNING
This phone comes in four colors. I personally own and like the black. It's the best color for a mobile phone. I also like this phone because it's sized like a regular phone, making it more portable, more cute and more like a regular cell phone, which is nice. However, that brings up a big problem. Typing comes handy at times. This phone has a Qwerty keyboard, but each bottom shares two letters. It also has small wheel in the middle. Some people says it breaks very easily. I've dropped the phone a couple of times, and I use it several times a day and it did not break.
The phone has camera with a good quality and a tiny mirror below the lens (which I always loved... it's easy to make those close up photos) The phone has also bluetooth capabilities and of course, Internet.The phone itself has endless options. Some of the basic already build in options are:

Calculator
Tasks
Instant Messaging
Voice Recorder
Written Recorder
Alarm
E-mail
The mentioned previously and some more.
However, this is just the beginning, as a software called Handago Inhand has bazillions of tools and games you can download and run on your phone. Also software to reach excel and other files.The phone it self does not have a lot of memory available, however, you can plug a micro SD card. It will be installed automatically and you will be able to store more data.
STOP IT!!! I JUST WANT TO CALL... IT'S A PHONE!
Some people just need a phone to talk and send some messages. If it's your case, you do not need such a phone like this. However, if you need to access your e-mail several times a day, you also need to send e-mails, to browse for maps or even to connect it to a Tom Tom Device (I have a review of this) to know about the traffic, this is your phone.
COMPATIBILITY
This phone works properly with any Windows computer (even with Vista) I'm unsure about MAC. However, this phone won't work with Linux Ubuntu (if you find out it does, tell me how and I will owe you!) The phone has the capability to synchronize with several software of your computer (such the e-mail, databased and so forth...)
The phone charges throughout USB which is always nice because if you connected it to your computer to do some work, you won't need to connect your phone to the outlet for a regular charging and while working on a pc with the phone, you won't run out of battery.
THE VERY BEST TOOL
This phone has something that not all the smart phones has. It's an extremely essential and worth tool. In the box you may find a CD to install the blackberry software (and then you need to get an update online)
Once installed and configured you get this tool (It's somewhat tricky, but T-Mobile has a dedicated blackberry department with free customer assistance and friendly employees) You will be able to connect to the Internet with the phone. But, I mean, connect your computer (your laptop for example) You are somewhere in the middle of nothing... just get some T-Mobile signal and you can connect your laptop to the internet. it does not have an awesome speed, but it's really helpful and not expensive. If you get the blackberry plan for $19.99 a month you have unlimited Internet for the phone and the computer (using the phone)
OVERALL
As mentioned above. This phone is great for business people. I did never have a problem with this phone and I find it very strong (as I dropped it a couple of times and nothing happened) So, if you really need a smart phone, consider this phone!
