The Serial Host Adapter provides multiple PCI-bus links for communication servers, point-of-sale (POS) systems, and other data-collection devices. Integration problems are a thing of the past with this Adapter, since it supports all PCI interrupts, giving you more IRQs to choose from when installing. This card has 16850 UART (Universal Asynchronous Receiver/Transmitter) chips, which are integrated circuits that convert bytes from the computer bus into serial bits for transmission. The high-speed 16850 UART interrupts your CPU less often. And when the CPU is interrupted, it services larger blocks of data.
