With the CampusLIGHT ATM 25.6-Mbps Fiber Extender, you can convert copper cable to multimode fiber - and extend ATM links over a mile! Copper links can be up to 100 meters (328 feet), and fiber runs can be as long as 2 kilometers (1.2 miles)! This CampusLIGHT extender is ideal for interconnecting ATM 25.6-Mbps workstations, hubs, servers, and switches. The extender's small size and standard ST connectors make it easy to install and use. The CampusLIGHT ATM 25.6-Mbps Fiber Extender is designed for use in desktop, workgroup, and fiber-to-desktop architectures. Use it to create a multimedia network across large sites or multiple buildings. Or implement a complete ATM 25.6-Mbps fiber-to-desktop cabling system. In a typical application, you can connect a remote workstation or node up to 2.2 kilometers (1.3 miles) from a workgroup switch. Simply connect your remote node to a CampusLIGHT extender via UTP or STP, run up to 2 kilometers (1.2 miles) of multimode fiber to a second extender, and link that extender to the workgroup switch using UTP or STP. If you need to connect two switches instead, the same configuration applies.
