Black Box A/S 4 - serial adapter

The Black Box A/S-4 Protocol Converter has multiple features, so your ASCII devices can access your SDLC system. The A/S-4 operates over point-to-point, multipoint, or switched SDLC lines. In interactive mode, the A/S-4 emulates a 3274 controller supporting one LU2-type terminal (IBM 3278 CRT) and an LU1- or LU3-type (3287) printer. In batch mode, the A/S-4 emulates a 3770 RJE workstation. It also emulates multiple LU1-type devices like printers, card readers, card punches, or disks. A built-in modem eliminator can supply the sync clocking. You select the rates - up to 9600 bps. Or attach your own async device directly. You can attach the A/S-4 to sync modems (dialup or leased line) to send data between your remote async device and an IBM FEP or equivalent. It's switch-selectable for NRZI or NRZ.
