Advantages: Watch the best in the world perform Disadvantages: Recent Scandals
The Beijing Olympics are due to start next weekend and it will be the first time that the event is being stage in the Republic of china. There have been quite a few public demonstrations in the months leading up to the event mainly to protest China's human rights violations
Once the games begin all eyes will be focused on the athletes and the wonderful performances that they would put up in the following weeks. I used to watch the Olympics mainly ... ...field event. Recently though this part of the sports has been tainted by a lot of drug scandals and allegations.
If this disturbs you, look for some of the team events. It is not likely for a whole squad to be involved in massive doping. For example, the volleyball is always awesome to watch, both male and female. Some of the great teams in volleyball have come from countries such as US, Brazil, Japan, USSR and Cuba.
There are team basketball, ...

BEIJING OLYMPICS 2008
These days I am not particularly sporty and I must confess that even when younger, despite being fit and pretty athletic, I was never a competitive sportswoman.
I have, however, always enjoyed watching international sporting events and in particular the Olympic Games - winter or summer versions - so I am particularly looking forward to the next few weeks when my TV viewing will be predicated on the events being broadcast.
... ...is probably going to be the fount of all sporting knowledge in relation to the 'Games for me and it has already set up an excellent website at www.bbc.co.uk/olympics to give background.
To highlight the upcoming Games the BBC is also broadcasting an utterly charming cartoon which it has had created especially for this purpose - based, apparently, quite loosely on a traditional Chinese story called "Journey to the West" it shows three characters ...

...am an expat living in Beijing for the last two years. I was also here in 1995 for two years. The way Beijing has transformed is ... just amazing! The Road to the Olympics has transformed Beijing from a small urban city to on of the best and advanced cities in Beijing. You can only correctly see China's advancements if you are here for a long period of time, like me. The atmosphere over here just before the Olympics was amazing. All the Chinese were ... ...2008. In just two months, Beijing was a very clean, clear-skied, green city. And now let me come to the Olympics. The whole ticketing process in China was very good and stable. I, in total watched about 4 games - 2 Hockey Matches, An Olympic Athletic at the Bird's Nest and a Paralympic Athletic at the Bird's Nest. Oh, the Bird's Nest - ITS THE MOST WONDERFUL STADIUM IN THE WORLD! You must have seen the amazing nest from outside in pictures, but the ...

...an event. The fact that Beijing has been transformed, new and improved infrastructure has been introduced, and steps been taken to ensure a pleasant welcome of athletes has almost gone unnoticed. Most of the Chinese people feel a sense of pride at holding such an event but also look glaringly at such such anti-china news coverage, especially given the fact that the most mention China ever gets is either with regards to trade or the huge trade deficit ...

Advantages Great watching on TV Disadvantages Too much coverage in lower games
...I think that the Beijing2008Olympics will be won by United States, they are high on the list of receiving medals and have done a superb job. United Kingdom is second best, they seem to be doing very well with the help of the swimmers and the boating activities plus the running however, United States are also proving to be excellent in the swimmers and the boating activities but also have loads of talent in other areas like javlin, hockey and other sports that I did not think they could actually win a gold medal for. I think the Beijing games are superb however I think they went over the top on the stadium and the surroundings. Surely they should be saving money on improving the air polution rather than the birds nest....

Advantages World records smashed to pieces, the sheer talent of the Athletes, 19 Golds for GB! Disadvantages Drug cheats, we didn't perform that well in Athletics
...Admittedly, I am not a massive sports fan but even I make an exception when it comes to the once-every-four-years spectacle that is the Olympic Games. The Olympic Games showcases the best of the best, it is the pinnacle of sport for all of its competitors and is a spectacle to watch for us mere mortals! The Olympics of 2008 was the 29th Olympic Games, and what an amazing games it was too.
The Olympics Games of 2008 took place in Beijing, the capital city of China. China was awarded these games in 2001, and have spent the past 7 years creating the amazing venues that we have seen on our television screens over the past 2 weeks across the city. These venues include the 90,000 seat Bird's Nest Stadium, home of athletics, the Velodrome where the cycling took place, the Watercube which was home of all things aquatic and the Shunyi Rowing...

Advantages The Variety of events the game has to offer Disadvantages The tapping to the buttons
...This game beijing2008 is very realistic when it come to the olympic games.
This game has more sports/activities than the last one athens 2004 it has extra things like table tennis, canoeing, judo and there are lots more for you to find out and experience, this is one of the best sports games you can buy at this time, all of the great events are still there 100m 200m and the rest, there are over 40 events that you can take part in.
There is a new way in which you can play the events the ordinary way of tapping x and o but there is new way of moving the left and right anology side to side
BeijingOlympics has to be the best game at this time....
